The Hospital Unit Clerk program prepares students for an essential role within hospital and clinical settings . Unit clerks support communication between physicians, nurses, patients, and departments to help ensure organized and efficient patient care.
This program blends medical knowledge with practical administrative training. Students develop skills in medical terminology, patient documentation, electronic medical records (EMR), scheduling, and physician order processing — all vital in fast-paced health care environments.
The Hospital Unit Clerk program goes beyond theory to provide practical, job-ready skills. Students learn to manage electronic scheduling, clinical documentation, referrals, and medical billing within an EMR system. Training also includes measuring vital signs, preparing examination rooms, assisting during procedures, maintaining infection control standards, and producing accurate medical correspondence.
With proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and professional documentation practices, graduates are equipped to support both the clinical and administrative needs of modern health care facilities.
